How to Use v2rayNG on Android: Download, Set Up, and Import Free Servers Step by Step

This article shows you how to import FreeVPN-X free nodes into v2rayNG on an Android phone and connect.The whole process takes about 3 minutes—just follow the steps.

Step 1: Download and install v2rayNG

• On this site, go to “Client Downloads” and click v2rayNG to download the APK, or install it from GitHub / the app store.
• If you see an “Unknown sources” prompt during installation, just allow installation in your system settings.

Step 2: Get the free node key

1. Go back to the FreeVPN-X homepage, enter your email under “Get Free Nodes,” and click Send Verification Code.
2. Check your inbox for the 6-digit verification code (including the spam folder), enter it, then click Get Key.
3. The page will provide: ① the key for all nodes (copyable) ② the subscription link (url.cr, accessible within China, valid for 3 hours).

Step 3: Import nodes (two methods, choose either one)

Method A · Import from clipboard (simplest, recommended)

1. On the webpage, click Copy All Keys.
2. Open v2rayNG, then tap the top-right “＋” → “Import from Clipboard”.
3. All nodes will be imported at once.

Method B · Add subscription (can auto-update)

1. On the webpage, click Copy Subscription Link.
2. In v2rayNG, tap the top-left “☰” → Subscription Group Settings → top-right “＋” → paste the link → save.
3. Return to the main screen and tap the top-right “⟳” Update Subscription to pull in the nodes.

Step 4: Test speed and connect

1. Tap the bottom-right three dots → Test All Configs Real Ping, then choose a node with low latency.
2. Tap the green “V” button at the bottom right to connect. The first time, it will request VPN permission—just allow it.
3. When the button turns green and a key icon appears in the status bar, the connection is successful.

Troubleshooting common issues

• Can’t connect / keeps spinning: Switch to another low-latency node; if too many people are using the free nodes, just change to a different one.
• Subscription update failed: The free subscription is valid for 3 hours. If it expires, come back to this site and get a new subscription link.
• Connected but webpages won’t open: In v2rayNG settings, set the routing mode to “Bypass Mainland China,” or restart the app once.
