This article teaches you how to import FreeVPN-X free nodes into v2rayN on a Windows computer and access the internet.
Step 1: Download and run v2rayN
- On this site, click v2rayN under “Client Download” to download the ZIP file, then extract it to any folder.
- Double-click v2rayN.exe to run it (it requires the .NET runtime; if it’s missing, follow the prompt to install it). The program will minimize to the tray in the bottom-right corner.
Step 2: Get the free node key
On the FreeVPN-X homepage, use your email to get a verification code → then obtain the full node key and subscription link.
Step 3: Import nodes (two methods)
Method A · Bulk import from clipboard
- On the webpage, click Copy All Keys.
- In the top menu of v2rayN, go to Servers → Import bulk URLs from clipboard, and the nodes will be imported into the server list.
Method B · Add a subscription (can auto-update)
- On the webpage, click Copy Subscription Link.
- At the top of v2rayN, go to Subscription → Subscription Settings → add a new line, paste the link into “Address (URL)” → click OK.
- Then click Subscription → Update Subscription (without proxy) to pull in the nodes.
Step 4: Select a node + enable system proxy
- In the server list, double-click a node to set it as currently in use (or right-click and choose “Set as active server”).
- Right-click the tray icon in the bottom-right corner → System Proxy → Auto-configure system proxy.
- Your browser will then use the proxy. You can check the connection status in the log at the bottom of v2rayN.
Troubleshooting common issues
- Won’t run: Install .NET Desktop Runtime, or right-click and choose “Run as administrator.”
- Can’t connect: Switch to a low-latency node (right-click and choose “Test server real latency”).
- Subscription expired: The free subscription is valid for 3 hours; after it expires, return to this site to get a new one.
- No internet after closing: Change “System Proxy” back to “Clear system proxy.”
