Shadowrocket for iOS Tutorial: Import Free Nodes and Connect

This article teaches you how to import FreeVPN-X free nodes into Shadowrocket on iPhone/iPad.

Installation Requirements

• Shadowrocket is a paid app, and it is not available in the China region App Store, so you need a non-China Apple ID (such as a US Apple ID) to purchase and download it.
• For registering a non-China Apple ID, you can refer to the “Non-China Apple ID Registration Tutorial” on RedGate.

Step 1: Get the Free Node Key

On the FreeVPN-X homepage, use your email to get a verification code → then obtain the node key / QR code / subscription link.

Step 2: Import Nodes (Choose One)

Method A · Scan the QR Code (Fastest)

1. Open the Shadowrocket home page, then tap “＋” → “Scan QR Code” in the top right corner.
2. Point it at the QR code on this page to import the included nodes.

Method B · Add a Subscription (Recommended, imports all at once + can be updated)

1. On the webpage, tap Copy Subscription Link.
2. In the top right corner of the Shadowrocket home page, tap “＋” → select Subscribe as the type → paste the link into the URL field → done.
3. All nodes will be imported at once, and you can pull down to refresh and update them later.

Step 3: Connect

1. Select a node from the node list (tap it once to check it).
2. Turn on the switch in the top right corner of the home page. The first time, it will ask to add a VPN configuration—tap “Allow.”
3. When the status shows “Connected,” you can access the internet.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

• Cannot connect: Try another node; set “Global Routing” to “Configuration” or “Bypass Mainland China.”
• Subscription expired: The free subscription is valid for 3 hours. After it expires, return to this site to get a new one.
• No response when scanning: The QR code contains only 2 random nodes. If you want all of them, use “Copy Subscription Link + Add Subscription.”
