Update hosts
It is recommended to use the apps/tools provided in the project to automatically obtain the latest hosts file. Below is a brief introduction to the steps for manually replacing hosts.
Windows
-
Open with a text editor (such as Notepad++)
(as shown below):%SystemRoot%System32driversetchosts
- Copy all content from hosts into the file above and save it.
Note: If you are unable to save, right-click the hosts file and go to Properties ->
Security, select your logged-in username,
click Edit, and check Write.
Other platforms
-
Please copy all content from hosts to
/etc/hostsand save it.See also: hosts locations on different platforms
Note
- When manually replacing hosts, it is recommended to clear the existing
content in hosts before copying- After replacing the hosts
file, the relevant records may not take effect immediately. You can turn the network off and on again, or enable and disable airplane mode
to make domain name resolution take effect immediately
How to Contribute
Files such as hosts are generated automatically by the program. To change their contents, please modify hosts.yml in the hosts-source branch. For details, see the README in that branch.
